In addition to the Flying Taxi the player regularly uses, there is a local Flying Taxi in Wyndon, located in front of the Rose of the Rondelands hotel and in front of Wyndon Stadium. The player cannot call the Flying Taxi in caves or buildings. The player will be granted access to the Flying Taxi after the opening ceremony for the Gym Challenge in Motostoke Stadium, after which they can use the taxi from the Town Map or Habitat screen of the Pokédex. In Pokémon Sword and Shield, players can use the Flying Taxi to travel to previously visited locations, free of charge. In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the player can also fly to any route or landmark directly, in addition to cities and towns. In Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, players can fly to either region by first flying to the Indigo Plateau or Route 26, then to the other region. In Generation II, the player cannot use Fly to move between Kanto and Johto. In Generation I and II, when a Pokémon uses Fly outside of battle, its overworld sprite is the same as the icon seen in the party. The Johto Battle Frontier, by contrast, can automatically be accessed after the National Pokédex is obtained. There are some exceptions, however, such as Opelucid City in Pokémon Black and White where the player must first view the Team Plasma event, Lacunosa Town in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 where the player must first encounter Professor Juniper and Bianca, and Ever Grande City in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald where the player must first climb the waterfall. Generally, simply entering a flyable location is all that is required to be able to use Fly for that location. If the location lacks a Pokémon Center, an otherwise suitable spot is used. ![]() Using Fly usually lands the player in front of an area's Pokémon Center.
